Testimonials from Residents of our Retirement Community

Letter from a resident:

"As a 2 1/2 year resident of The Wellington Retirement Home in Medicine Hat, may I offer a word of recognition and endorsement. My stay here has been most welcome with planned activities in a related community living. Retirement in today's "verbiage: offers a new lease on life!"

Letter from the daughter of two Wellington residents:

"My parents moved into The Wellington Retirement Residence the first week of August of this year (2011). After researching, inteviewing, and visiting many Retirement Residences in Medicine Hat, there is no doubt that The Wellington was our best choice.

The Front Office Staff have been second-to-none and have lived up to all of their committments. The Health Care Staff have worked with our Mom & Dad on an ongoing basis to streamline their medication requirements. The Aides & Kitchen Staff go far above their requirements to make everyone feel so comfortable and loved every day. Our families are so fortunate to have our parents living at The Wellington. The day-to-day environment ceated by the friendly staff gives the Seniors the want to live and be part of the many activioties provided.

Our family has had the opportunity to eat int he dining room many times and have enjoyed the food immenselhy: great variety and tasty as well!

Our sincere gratitude goes out to all of the staff members at The Wellington for their ongoing commitment to the care of our parents and all of its residents."

Letter from the daughter of a resident:

"As Thanksgiving is soon approaching, I would be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to thank the management and staff of The Wellington for making this past year a very special time for our mother. A little over a year ago, the Wellington became her place of residence but it didn’t take very long before she felt that it truly had become her “home.”

Many senior facilities that had been considered, had similar amenities but none seemed to provide the level of management expertise and sincere caring for its resident family that we immediately observed here. Each person is recognized as a unique individual but all are considered part of a large family unit where all activities and events are planned to promote feelings of dignity co-operation and self-worth. From accommodation to housekeeping, personal care assistance to recreation activities and meals in particular, Mom is very pleased. She frequently says that she “feels truly blessed to be living where she does.”

As the individual responsible for supervising her care and well being, I appreciate the compassionate and professional consideration that is demonstrated in providing care and attention to her needs. I know that even when I am not immediately available, she is in a secure safe and happy environment, where consistently she is content and cheerfully looks forward to each new day. It is also reassuring to have ongoing communication and updates from staff and caregivers. I am certain that the team approach and positive interaction among the various levels of management and support services contributes greatly to the overall efficiency and harmony.

Happy Thanksgiving to all with sincere appreciation,

- Bev K.
