Frequently Asked Questions

The following are some of the questions most frequently asked about The Wellington and our blend of supportive living suites and condominiums.

If you have a question which is not answered, click here to email us at suiteinfo@thewellingtonmh.com.

Do I have to buy a unit to live at The Wellington?

The Wellington gives you freedom to choose. All our supportive living suites are available on an annual lease, so you can place your assets in income-generating investments. If you want to buy, some of the privately-owned condominium units are occasionally available. The choice is yours - contact us for more information if you want to rent or buy.

How many supportive living suites do you have available?

On August 1, 2007, we officially opened 86 sparkling new supportive living suites. Many are already leased but we do have several one bedroom and studio suites available. Under our EZ Suite program, our studio suites offer the convenience of hotel living in a friendly community, with both lunch and supper included in your lease. If you've already cooked enough meals in your lifetime, the EZ Suite is your break from the kitchen.

How big are your suites?

Our suites range in size from our smallest studio apartments - more than 400 square feet - to our Evening Star, Prairie Rose and Primrose suites, which offer more than 1,000 square feet of living space. We have studio suites, one-bedroom units, one-bedroom with den, two-bedroom, and two-bedroom with den. All units have cooking facilities with safety features and walk-in showers. The larger units have full kitchens, balconies or patios, and laundry rooms. Studios have tea kitchens and private baths.

Can I bring a pet?

Yes. Small pets - a cat or a dog under 20 pounds - are welcome.

What is supportive living?

supportive living is for seniors who can handle most of their day-to-day living requirements but who appreciate assistance with home care and meal preparation. supportive living allows you to maintain your independence with just enough help to ensure a healthy and rewarding lifestyle.

If I need more help in the future, will it be available?

Additional support services are always available and can be arranged on a temporary or long-term basis. We can also work with Palliser Care to bring you home care. Many of our residents choose The Wellington because they are planning ahead - they know they may need help in the future and so they choose a home where that help will be available.
